VDP stands for Variable Data Printing. When you are planning on doing a mailing or if you want customized postcards, need cards with special codes or want to personalize marketing letters on your letterheads, VDP is the way to go. We can even add serial numbers or limited edition numbers onto our wide format printed posters. Variable data printing is the process of utilizing software to insert any type of information from a database or mailing list into the content of the printed marketing material. .
Postcards, Newsletters, Catalogs, Lookbooks and more can all be enhanced with VDP! A typical mass mailing or bulk mailing is known as a “static” mailing. In other words, everybody on your mailing list gets exactly the same postcard. When you utilize variable data printing technology, each of your clients or customers can get a personalized piece with their special interest, name or incentive on the print collateral. The recipients of your VDP marketing materials will be impressed with the effort that was put into the personalized, professional materials you used for advertising your company. If you need to be able to give different incentive levels or messages to various clients, just build it into your database and we can print it. The results will be reflected in your return on investment or ROI.
The image below was printed very small in the corner of a run of 14″ x 20″ posters. The artist was able to increase his sales price when he added the “Limited Edition” numbering series to the job.

Check out our YouTube Channel for more information on setting up files when printing marketing materials like brochures. We know how tricky it can be to design a print ready file. When submitting your file to our pre-press staff, full color pages should be in CMYK format, images should be at least 300dpi, and should have a minimum 1/8″ bleed (see videos). Databases for VDP should be well planned and designed for best results. Random code generators can be used for VDP projects when a special, individualized alpha-numeric number is needed.
